The project

Raising the profile of independent retail and venues, to regenerate local commerce.

Communicating local event programmes, schemes and businesses to help drive footfall to Leamington Spa’s old town area.

We worked on a printed guide to the area, as well as marketing for a number of competitions and events supported by the Mary Portas town retail development scheme.

Highlighting the benefits of a vibrant and historic area of town…

Working with Leamington Old Town, a charitable trust, to drive footfall, revitalise local retail and help bring together the surrounding community.

The project focused on the creation of a directory of the area’s vibrant independent shops, cafes, venues and eateries. The aim was to encourage people to shop locally.

We created a suite of marketing materials, reflecting the vibrant, independent nature of the retailers, venues, businesses and organisations operating within the area. This involved working within the existing design style of Leamington Old Town to ensure awareness of the venture was maximised with a consistent look and feel.

The body of work included a campaign logo, give-away pack and merchandise, as well as leaflets, flyers and posters.

With a target market of students, young professionals and community minded locals, it was imperative to ensure the guide was easy to follow, whilst also detailing the special qualities of the area compared to the main high street.

The guide was included in a campaign pack delivered to local housing and student organisations.

About Leamington Old Town…

Leamington Old Town is an organisation that was originally founded via the Mary Portas town retail development pilot scheme.

The government-backed fund was created in partnership with retail guru Mary Portas, designed to re-invigorate poorly performing retail environments across the country. The organisation continues with the aim to help small businesses in the ‘Old Town’ area of Leamington to increase footfall.
